SoLo in All Island

 I'm a traditional dancer since 2014. Then I was at Sri Bodhi College. After that at Thakshila College Gampaha.That school's dance team understands that it's the hardest thing to do, because the dance team made yo of the 16 best dancers in the school who have been selecting for weeks. I was lucky to be among those 16. In 2018 & 2019 the Gampaha Thakshila College dance troupe  won first place in Sabaragamu tradition in school competitions across Sri Lanka. Even though our school had won 1st place every day since the, unfortunately after the years we participated , the school did not come for several years. This was because the Covid 19 virus wich was spreading all over the world , also spread to our Country.


Then I enterd Minuwangoda President's College . Over time , the virus disappeared . 2024 , This is the year.That day I was after A/L. I was able to represent the school and win first place in the Minuwangoda zonal of the solo Kandyan tradition school competition. Six of us, also me, four Getabera drummers , a thalampata player. A lovely teacher and three of our brothers to help. Practiced circadian rhythm. We were ready to represent the western province . Yes, we did it. We also able to surpass  11 zonals and make our school a school that will neck die in dance competitions in the western province.

All Island means the competition for the contestants who won first place from all nine provinces Sri Lanka . We competed fearlessly and prepared well. So well that every one watching said we would definitely take 1st place. Unfortunately , we lost first place due to the unfair decisions of judging panel. But we a humbled by the opprtanity to complete representing our school.

Super FOUR 🫂😂

  Janith, Sethara, Me & Siri   As we are names Achini, Sethara, Siri and last one Janith.       How to met :      One day, I suddenly came across TV program . Sethara also participated  in the same program as a presenter. We were both presenters on that program , so we are best friends today. That day I'm in grade 11 and Setha in after O/L. Slowly Slowly  I went to my new dancing class. What a surprise Setha in the class. Over time ,two new buddies came to us, who we had gotten to know well that very day. Additionally years our gang become very close. Setha is the older sis because she was born  in 2003 but me in 2004 😁. Our 3rd one is Siri and last one Janith bro.He's still 18😄. JaCk & 2 beansss 🤫🫂

 Our names are Achini, Yasiru, and Thivanka. Our meeting was a coincidence. That is, we are 2023 A/L students. We got selected for universities after the cutoff. Then we went to Gampaha Hospital to get medicals because we needed them for our campus. Then we got married. Now we are close friends. What a coincidence, Yasiru and I are students of the same Guru Parampara.I think we are the best three because we are all equally talented in dancing, singing, and playing drums.  While Yasiru has a special interest in lowland dance, he is equally talented in Kandyan  and Sabaragamuwa tradition as well as Bharatanatyam dance. His singing skills are also invaluable. He also plays the Gatabera, Devolbera, Daula, Thammattama etc. with great skill. Thivanka is more fond of the Kandyan dance.
